The second part? Understanding the different ways knowledge management happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mainly, there are two methods of knowledge management\u2014the push method and the pull method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the name suggests, the push method of knowledge management is about \u201cpushing\u201d information out. With this method, companies take the lead on sharing information with their teams when they deem it necessary. So, for example, let\u2019s say the company wants their sales team to pursue new leads. If they were using the push method of knowledge management, they would proactively send the leads directly to their sales reps; the reps wouldn\u2019t be responsible for tracking down that information on their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the flip side, the pull method of knowledge management is about \u201cpulling\u201d information when you need it. With this method, the responsibility for finding and accessing relevant information falls on the employees\u2019 shoulders. With the push method, the organization takes a proactive approach to knowledge management\u2014while with the pull method, it\u2019s the employees being proactive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, here&#8217;s one thing to keep in mind: When it comes to the push and pull methods of knowledge management, it\u2019s not necessarily either\/or one over the other. Generally, organizations use both methods\u2014just at different times. Confluence seamlessly integrates with Google\u2019s suite of workplace applications (including Docs, Sheets, and Drive)\u2014and that integration makes it easy for employees to share content and knowledge with each other and across the organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No need to reinvent the wheel<\/strong>. Confluence comes equipped with a huge library of templates for everything from project management to strategic planning to documents and reports, so there\u2019s no need for your team to reinvent the wheel every time they need to create a page or space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ability to port knowledge base pages.<\/strong> If you have pre-existing knowledge base pages, you can easily port those pages to Confluence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Clearly, Confluence offers some benefits\u2014but the software also has some definite cons, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lacks key knowledge management and knowledge sharing features<\/strong>. While Confluence has a lot of great features for organizing information, when it comes to deeper knowledge management and sharing, it lacks some features that would empower higher levels of efficiency\u2014like intuitive link management, search, and sharing functionality.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Long links can cause functionality issues<\/strong>. As mentioned, the Google Workspace integration is a key benefit of Confluence.
